At the 2024 PPI Dunia Middle East and Africa (Timtengka) Regional Symposium in Egypt, several Indonesian delegates were unable to travel because their entry or tourist visas were not issued in time. Some delegates therefore could not depart as scheduled, which reduced how effectively they could take part in the symposium programme.
In light of that experience, a Visa on Arrival (VoA) is the more effective and practical route for Indonesian delegates.
Why a Visa on Arrival?

The process is simpler: the visa is issued on arrival at an Egyptian international airport, with no lengthy paperwork beforehand.

A Visa on Arrival is therefore the right safeguard for Indonesian delegates: it keeps travel running smoothly and avoids a repeat of the problems seen before.
The committee of the 18th OISAA International Symposium 2026 has determined that all Indonesian delegates holding an ordinary passport will use a Visa on Arrival (VoA) as the sole visa type for entering Egypt. Holders of diplomatic or service passports continue to follow the visa-free rules that apply to them.

Send a scan of your passport’s first page, valid for at least six more months.
